Get into the groove, as Madonna says. In a digital world, the analog experience of vinyl records is strong and continues to grow. While previously associated with the old, it’s the young—Gen Z and Millennials—who are leading this resurgence of the vinyl medium. Vinyl has reestablished its place in the modern music landscape.

Don’t get me wrong, the ability to have access to every song ever recorded is amazing. I’m so grateful to be living in this time to experience it. I use Spotify Premium, and it’s one of—if not—my favorite apps. Music is our thoughts and feelings. But the fact that everyone has access to everything limits individual expression. It’s too cheap. Vinyl records, in my opinion, allow us to be more fully expressive of our self than digital streaming. It takes time, effort, space, and resources to curate a vinyl collection. It’s not instant. It’s gradual and ever-breathing like the growth of an organism. It changes with us. It’s physical proof of our change. Our vinyl record collection reveals our self. So my intention with this book is to share my self with you. Don’t judge me too hard 😉
